Roots of South Los Angeles Wellness Center
Mission
Our mission is to center the healing of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities by providing culturally traditional and holistic mental health and wellness services. Roots of South Los Angeles Wellness Center will provide a brave and inclusive space to mobilize community empowerment through wellness, education and advocacy.
Vision
We envision a world where Black, Indigenous, and People of Color healing, rest, and liberation is centered and celebrated.
Values
Mind-Body-Spirit Connection
We believe that colonization and white supremacy has and continues to fragment Black, Indigenous, Bodies of Color. We center the reintegration and healing of the Mind-Body-Spirit connection through traditional cultural healing practices.
Community Care
As Frannie Lou once said, "No one is free, until everyone is free." We believe that community is power and that collective healing of racial and intergenerational trauma is necessary for Black, Indigenous and People of Color to thrive.
Abolition
The carceral state and the criminal justice system has caused violence to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color historically and presently. We center the work of organizing and mobilizing communities of color to dismantle these systems of oppression.
